Using CBD products for Anxiety- Customer Mail

Alexandra Fairhurst from Greater Manchester has suffered with anxiety for over 15 years and wrote in to tell us how she uses CBD products to help combat her anxiety. It was a friend who originally recommended trying CBD hemp tea to help ease the symptoms. Alexandra wrote in to us to share her experience;

“After years of suffering in silence, my friend recommended CBD. At now 46 years old, I was a little apprehensive. I’ve tried prescriptions, doctor recommended solutions, healthy diets, exercise, meditation and even talking to friends but nothing seemed to work. For 15 years of my life I suffered with generalised anxiety disorder, panic attacks, agoraphobia, PTSD, health anxiety, eating disorders and a raft of physical and psychological ‘symptoms’ that rendered me, more or less, useless and incapable, in every way.”

Alexandra’s friend advised her to try CBD hemp tea. At first, she was hesitant to try the dubious remedy believing it was illegal to buy in the UK. She was not familiar with the extensive research surrounding CBD.

“I was at this point, willing to give anything a try but always thought hemp tea and cannabis oils were not allowed in the UK. What’s the evidence that CBD works for anxiety?

The truth is that the popularity of CBD products as potential anti-anxiety supplements is backed with plenty of solid research. Several clinical trials are currently underway, but there is already sufficient proof (  of CBD’s benefits for:

  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
  • Panic disorder
  • Obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • Generalised anxiety disorder

Many would argue there is not enough evidence to tout CBD as an effective treatment for anxiety, and we would have to agree that more tests and scientific research has to be carried out. However, if we look at the studies that have already taken place the results are very promising. Medical studies paired with user testimonials leads us to believe there is real substance behind the hype.
